The Chrysler Corporation was an American automobile manufacturer that existed independently from 1925–1998. Chrysler and its subsidiaries became part of the German-American based DaimlerChrysler AG after being purchased by Daimler-Benz in 1998.
The strongly-Mercedes-influenced Chrysler Crossfire was one of the first results of this program. A return to rear-wheel drive was announced, and in 2004, a new Chrysler 300 using this technology and a new Hemi V8 appeared and became a solid hit. Ironically, by most standards, Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler
vehicles have surpassed the parent Mercedes in quality.

CHRYSLER CARS
"Even before the PT Cruiser went on sale in spring of 2000, it had become a big hit in the marketplace. Customers eagerly forked over well above sticker price to get one of the early examples of the retro-styled front-drive compact wagon, which looked like nothing else at any dealership. PT stood for Personal Transportation."

When buying a used car, look for signs of rust. The crusty brown stuff is never a pleasant sight, and depending on where it is, can have serious safety implications. Cosmetic rust, such as door bottoms and stone chips, is just ugly, and shouldn't hurt you. If rust is evident on the undercarriage or suspension points, you just might be greeted by a strut denting the top of the hood, if even a rusty strut mount exists.
When you buy a new car, and you intend on keeping your car for a few years, you might think of getting the car undercoated with a rust prevention fluid of some type. This should be done every year you have the car and the results are more than worthwhile.
