In 2007, Hyundai, now the sixth largest auto maker in the world, announced that it would begin assembling units in Brazil. The plant, to be located in the Brazilian state of Goias, is expected to assemble 50,000 pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles a year.
Hyundai, which runs full-fledged factories in China, India, Turkey and the United States, also has CKD arrangements in 13 countries including Russia, China, Iran, Venezuela, Egypt, Vietnam and Sudan.
