Until its merger with Hyundai in 1998, Kia Motors Corporation was the second largest manufacturer of automobiles and trucks in South Korea. In addition to the core Korea market, Kia exports vehicles to Europe, North America, and several Asian countries. The company started out as one of Korea's giant chaebols (groups of companies), but was operating as an independent, publicly traded company in the early 1990s. It entered the world's largest potential market, the United States, in 1992 with the formation of subsidiary Kia Motors America.

"Mechanically, the new 2004 Spectra is all-new. The engine is more powerful, more fuel efficient and cleaner. The wheelbase is longer, which improves the ride. The track is wider, which improves handling. Four-wheel disc brakes are now standard."

Some tips when buying a car online:
1. The most important thing is do your research. Check on different packages available with each model.
2. Go to websites that are secure and reliable. Most sites let you browse by model year, car type, price range, or more.
3. Check the background of online dealers by clicking the “about us” section.
4. If possible, contact the dealer in person once you are ready to purchase. Check out the warranty and, if a used car, inquire about the repair documentation on the vehicle.
5. It is best that you test drive the vehicle or a similar vehicle before making any purchase.
6. Negotiate with the dealer and, when ready, sign the paperwork.
