and anti-lock braking systems, amongst many others.
Mercedes-Benz Canada received two important automotive awards at the 2007 Canadian International Auto Show. The company was awarded the New Technology of the Year award for Mercedes-Benz’ BLUETEC diesel technology while the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) presented the 2007 Pyramid Award for Innovations in safety to Mercedes-Benz for their 2nd generation PRE-SAFE technology. Both awards celebrate and publicly acknowledge Mercedes-Benz’ on-going and relentless commitment to the development of new technologies for the benefit of its consumers and of the environment.
Mercedes-Benz is considered to be the pioneer of automotive diesel technology – the Mercedes-Benz 260D, which was launched 70 years ago, was the world’s first production diesel car. Over the years, Mercedes-Benz has consistently used its innovation and engineering talent to enhance and improve the internal combustion system invented by Rudolf Diesel.
