Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler both help create the world's first motor car in 1886. The Mercedes name came after a race car driver entered a Dailmer car
in a race using his daughter's name, Mercedes. In 1924, Benz and Daimler formed the Mercedes-Benz by merging the rival companies each owned.
Mercedes-Benz vehicles have a focus on high quality and state of the art engineering.
"The 2004 Mercedes-Benz SLR features a carbon fiber monocoque or, as Mercedes puts it, "passenger cell." Since carbon fiber has very good energy absorption, the vehicle structure is highly crash-proof. The engine is mounted to the front of the main body structure using huge aluminum castings bolted to the carbon fiber "firewall" area."
There is nothing like lifting the hood of a car and finding that the engine is shining and clean. Mechanics admire this because it helps them in servicing the engine or finding where fluids are leaking. If you decide to clean your own engine, be sure to wrap or cover the parts where water is liable to damage. For example,
the air filter and water inlets. Use plastic bags and tape to cover any place where you would not want water to enter such as the oil and transmission dip stick tubes and items that might be electrical in nature such as the fuse box or relay boxes and electrical connections. Use your good judgement. If you don't think an area should
be exposed to water, then cover it.
