In 1948, the first Porsche car was registered in Gmund Austria, chassis #356-001 powered by a 1086cc 30kW VW engine. One year later production started in Stuttgart, Germany. The Porsche car was called 356 because it was the 356th project off the Porsche design desk. Then in 1950 Porsche built the 1.5L flat-12 supercharged Castalia racing car. A controlled four wheel drive car was built! The year after, the Porsche factory made a light-weight 356 model for the Le Mans 24 hours race.

"For 2008, the Porsche Cayenne gets new front styling, with headlights moved to the corners and covered by clear glass lenses.
